Fishing Tackle and Planning
If your planning on fishing for pike than it is imperative that you put together a strategy before you set sail. Any fisherman knows the importance of packing the right gear and most importantly knowing what your fish will bite on. The Pike fish is not for the faint of heart and if you do not have the right pike fishing tackle you may not catch one or perhaps may end up in a dangerous situation. You will not want to use your average Terminal fishing tackle, instead you may want to use live or dead bait.
You may also want to make sure that you have a strong fishing rod, perhaps an Ugly Stick Fishing Rod which are very popular in the fishing community. With these types of rods you will want to pick one that has at least a 3lb test curve as the Pike are very strong and agile fish. Using the wire trace line to bait a pike is recommended as the Pike fish as razor sharp teeth and can cut easily through nylon or monofilament line. Using fishing line like these will cause you to lose the fish and possibly your hook may get stuck in it’s mouth and cause it to die slowly out in the water. Not very nice thing to do in my opinion.
